The good news about user-centred design

User-centred design is well-established, and has shown to have financial benefits for both clients and suppliers.

The point of user-centred design is to deliver a usable product or service, where usability is defined as

The capability of a system
to enable specified users to achieve specified goals
with effectiveness, productivity, safety and satisfaction.

The way to achieve usability as an outcome is to use human-centred design as the process.

The process has been set out in ISO TR 18529 as shown in the diagram below.
